All I have is he was born 1797 Yamachiche Quebec,Can., married Marie Greneir 1818 in Quebec. Did his wife die before 1826? Did Joseph get trouble with the Magistrate causing him to flee to Ontario, Canada and changing his name? My puzzle is this Joseph Deshane died 1851 Hastings, Belleville,Ontario,Can., and so did Joseph marie mainville deschenes. Theres a good chance that both are the same person. I need proof.
