I am trying to trace my father's family line. Before his death, my grandfather Henry Deschenes (wife Ruth) gave us some very limited details. If someone can help, I would appreciate it greatly. Here is what I know:
Father: Edward Deschenes (Quincy, MA)
Aunt: Ruth Deschenes (Quincy, MA)
Grandfather: Henry Deschenes (Quincy, MA)
Grandmother: Ruth Deschenes (Quincy, MA)
Great Grandfather: Auguste Deschenes (Maine, USA)
Great Grandmother: Odinas Deschenes (Maine, USA)
As I understand it my family was from the Alsace-Lorraine region of France, and were royalty (lords?) there. They fled to Canada (Quebec?) from the Germans, leaving their lands behind. From Canada, they moved down through Maine. Auguste may have been born in Canada. Auguste's brother may have been the State Fire Marshall in Maine during Prohibition, although the actual relationship was unclear. Henry was a lead custodian for the City of Quincy school department.
Not much to go on, I'm afraid. To my knowledge, there is no Miville connection but that may have just been left out by my grandfather.
