Scott Collin,
I had not looked at the Deschenes Message Board for quite awhile. However, when I read your post I felt I needed to reply to your posting as you see you are my second cousin. Your grandparents, Lottie Deschaine and Clarence Collin, are my Aunt and Uncle which makes your father my first cousin. I have photos of Clarence and Lottie as well as of Lottie’s brothers, sisters and parents. I remember when Lottie and Clarence Collin were married on 2 may 1939 in Ste Luce, Frenchville, Maine. After their honeymoon they moved into an apartment in Ste Luce. My father and Lottie’s brothers, Herman and Herby, helped them move in as I watched as a small boy of 6 years of age. My father, Louis Deschaines, was the oldest in the Deschaine family of 12 children, 10 boys and 2 girls. I have a very comprehensive Miville-Deschenes family tree back to Pierre Miville-dit-LeSuisse.

Who is your father, Donald Collin or Rodney Collin? The last time I saw your grandmother was at Uncle Herby’s home in Bristol, CT in 1974. My email is cedesch@knology.net I am sorry that I have not replied sooner since I have all of the genealogy answers you are looking for. I believe my family is the only one that adds the “s” to Deschaine. My name is Carroll Deschaines.
