If anyone has a copy of Laforest's article on the Deshaies family, in volume 7 of Our French Canadian Ancestors, could you please scan it and send it to me at email@example.com . If you need to photocopy and snail it please contact me for my address, and I'll be glad to pay the costs.
If the information that is posted on this board IS that article, please let me know, but usually Laforest's articles are longer and cuter than that. I've actually seen the article when I was researching my brother in law's family (the identity of my cousins' Dehais family was always a mystery and I didn't fail to wonder if it could be the same family, which actually, it is.) I think that it began with the usual cute drawing of a man in prison stripes, which the French must have been very fond of.
Also it looks as if that volume could contain more than one article on the same family. I am interested in that of St.-Pyr. Usually I have seen one of his sons given that dit name.
I have ordered the article from the Allen library in Indiana, but they told me that it is likely to take quite some time to get it. Normally I could just get it at the state library in downtown Austin, but they put all their books away for two years to do renovations - and no, they didn't need to do renovations.
