Hi. I'm not related to this family. Alexis is listed in the 1851 Census in Becancour so that narrows down his death date a bit more.

Believe it or not I found his burial in St-Roch! -loosely translated from Quebec Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1621-1967 Record for Alexis Tourigny:

Alexis Tourigny, farmer, of Becancour, husband of Lucie Vasseur, d. 28 Oct 1852 at "l'Hopital de la maine", bur. 29 Oct 1852 Québec (St-Roch), age 47

I don't know what the entry in quotes refers to exactly, or whether I even transcribed it correctly. They buried him quickly though. Usually it's in 2 days. Here it was the very next day.
