Hello Roger,
Almazor Desilets was born in St. Wencelas Quebec, that is not too far from Victoriaville. He left that area before he married Ida Dunn and went to Alberta. He and Ida married in Alberta on Feb. 22, 1914. From what I heard, the story was that he met Ida before he left for Alberta.
Ida was baptized in the parish of St. Leonard d'Aston,Quebec. Her parents left that area and she lived in Massachusetts as a young girl for a many years with her parents George and Marie (Lamothe) Dunn. George worked in the mills during the late 1800's and early 1900's. They went back to Quebec from time to time because George's parents were still living in Arthabaska and his brother Omer was in Davelluyville. It's my understanding that she knew Almazor (they called him Al) from these visits and eventually married him. I will look to see what his children's names were. Right now I have my papers up in my attic, first chance I get I will let you know.
Best regards,
Marie
