Hi Elaine. The name of the place is probably Coteau-du-Lac in Soulanges county. The family could be Legault dit Deslauriers. Check on the DESLAURIERS page of GENFORUM. I doubt it would be Renaud dit Deslauriers for that area, although some of them were in nearby Prescott county in Ontario in those years.
Could you give some background on Jean-Bapt. such as wife's name and marriage date and place, children with dates and places, etc to help localise this family in time and space.
This would narrow down the domain of search.
Deslauriers and Legault are frequent in the Montreal area and Jean-Baptiste is largely used too.
