Deslaurier Family Genealogy Forum
Old history of this family seems non-existant. One family tradition holds that two brothers immigrated from France with one becoming the progenitor of the Dakota Territory DELORIA family. Was Francois the "muleteer" simply referred to as "Deslauriers" in Parkman's stories of travels thru the Great Plains on the Oregon Trail? Could he have come out to Dakota from Ft. Vincennes?...seem to recall DESLAURIERS being there in late 1700s. Any help on this notable Dakota family greatly appreciated!
