My ancestor, Clement DESLAURIERS, was born around 1843 in St. Antoine, married Clemence GENDRON in 1873, and appears on the 1891 Quebec census in Contrecoeur. According to marriage records, Clement's parents were Louis DESLAURIERS and Monique MARCHEGAULT. However, on the online 1871 Quebec census index, I can find no Clement or Louis DESLAURIERS, but there is a Clement RENAUD of Contrecoeur and also a Louis RENAUD. Does anyone have any information on the parents of the Louis RENAUD who appears on the 1871 census and better still, is Louis RENAUD the same person as Louis DESLAURIERS? Any ideas on his ancestors would be greatly appreciated. By the way, my father was born in Conrecoeur to Jean Baptiste Deslauriers and Evelina Marie St. Laurent. Happy hunting all.....
