american indian DeSpains? Spains? Barnett?

One of my DeSpain relatives married a Barnett. I believe the Barnett was Cherokee from the Southeast but not sure - found their name in the Cherokee roles.

Is anyone aware of American Indian anscenstry in the DeSpain family - any of them? My grandpa lived in the Indianapolis, Indiana area and was living in Marissa Illinois for a while when my dad was born and Belleville, IL. His dad came from Houston County ILL. Anyone know this line of DeSpains? Thank you!
please respond to margiedespain@yahoo.com. thanks.
