Hi Paul:

Did the Despault surname have any other spellings that you are aware of? I have direct line ancestors from Quebec with the last name of "Depot", sometimes also spelled "Despots" - the line goes back to Louis Delepeau (abt. 1710-1779)from Normandie, France, who wed M. Josephte Leroux in 1751 in Quebec - please e-mail me directly if there is a connection, just use Depot in the subject line - jusip@hotmail.com. Thanks!
