Hi Jerry,

Your referenced article by Mr. Wallace was interesting and probably factual for the period after 1820. Isham Desper (not Isom) was my great (X 7) grandfather. The Desper family name was originally "Dashper" and the variant "Desper" began to take dominance with Isham's grandfather, John, and his own father, Thomas. Both last names were used by the family, depending upon the clerk who wrote the legal information. The Dashper/Desper family is English in origin, not Scots-Irish. I would be glad for you to view our new family web site. We are adding more all the time. Thanks for your information.
