Fred and Caroline's two younger sons were settled in WI before their parents came over in 1883 with the other brother Herman. I don't have the date when they came in 1883, but the son Karl Friedrich landed at New York in May, 1880 and went directly to Waupaca Couty where he filed his Delcarion of Intent to become a citizen on 31 Oct 1882. The other son, William D landed at New York on 28 Jul 1880, and came directly to Waupaca County, and filed his Declaration on 3 Nov 1892. This is information I added to some published material on this family I found here at the Family History Library, "Detert and Allied Families" – Irma Louise (Detert) De Graff, South Bend, IN 1990. 606 Woodcliff, South Bend, IN. I latched onto this because my family also came from Saatzg in Pommern. I looked up these people also in the 1900 census of WI. It appears the author of the info (Irma b. 1922) is a granddaughter of Karl F. Detert.
