Dear Jan,
Sorry to take so long to reply. If you have any info which is linked to my Detert family, i would like to know it.
My grandfather was Clarence Henry Detert who stowed away from America about 1913-1915. I would love to know why and what happened to his father, Julius and brothers, Delmar and Ralph.
Clarence or (Richard) which he called himself had sons in Brisbane Queensland and sons in Western Australia. He travelled a great deal!
Apparently he was in the Phillipine Islands for 1 year before arriving in Cairns, Queensland, Australia in 1915,
If you know about him or his family, please reply.
Maureen Carter c/
