Christian Wilhelm Detert b. 5/29/1795 p.b. homestead of Collonus Detert, No. 5 West Phalia, Village of Gehlenbeck, District of Lubbecke, County Seat of Mindon, Province of West Phalia, Prussia. He was the youngest son of Johann Frederick Detert. Christian married Fredericka Louise Brueggeman on 9/10/1826 at the homestead of Collanus Brueggeman. Fredericka died in 1868 and Christian died 4/24/1872. They had five children:
Charles Frederick b. 6/12/1830
Dorothea Sophia b. 9/17/1833
Herman Theodore b. 7/1/1837 in Hartum, Germany
Frederick William b. 7/16/1840 in Germany
Henry Otto b. 7/30/1846 in Hartum, Germany; d. 11/25/1915 in Louisville, KY
