John K & Lanina Detwiler/Detweiler, Montgomery County, Pa.

Looking for information on a child of John & Lavina. Her name, as I know it, is Eliza Jane. She was born in September 1874. She married A. Benjamin Gouldy in 1877. They had a daughter Mary Jane in January 1878 & Eliza Jane died several weeks later. {All according to our family history.}
The problem is that I can not find Mary Jane in the 1880 census; either as a Gouldy or a Detwiler. And her father is found still living with his parents, at the same time, without his daughter. Mary Jane shows up in the 1900 census living with her paternal grandmother, while her father is shown with a new wife & no children.
There is no Eliza Jane Detwiler shown in the 1850, 1860, nor 1870 census in the household of John & Lavina Detwiler/Detweiler. In the 1860 census there is a Mary Jane, 3 years old. But in the 1870 there is a Jane, 15 years old & a Mary Ann, 13 years old. So it would appear that the Mary Jane in 1860 was a mistake by the census taker or a combination of the 2 girls.
So I am asking if anyone has further information on said Eliza Jane Detwiler/Detweiler that might solve these 2 problems?
