Devan Family - N. Alabama - Early 1800s
Posted by: Rick Bryant Date: December 12, 2000 at 17:59:05
  of 98

My gg grandfather was Ephriam Devan, m. Jane Reed 8-20-1829 in Lawrence County, Alabama. Census records lead me to beleive his father was Bernard Devan, who was in the county as early as 1818, but I don't have that quite nailed down. The Devan family seems to have disappeared from North Alabama in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century. Does anyone have more information on these folks?
Raymond A. (Rick) Bryant, Jr.
