I am a descendent of Ephriam Devan (1810-1867) through his son Ephriam James Devan through his daughter Dora Lee Devan.

The son Ephriam James Devan died on Oct. 24, 1872 in Lawrence county Alabama. His wife Sallie E. Aldridge Devan moved to Waxahachie Texas with her brother in the 1870s.

I am pretty sure Bernard Devan is the father of Ephriam Devan.

If this ties into your family, let me know and I can send you more the statistics that have on the family.
