We have corresponded a few times regarding the Fayette Co. Devans. My great-grandfather was born in Faytette Co. in 1841. His father was a Thomas Devan. I have been trying to find evidence that Thomas was connected to the Timothy Devan and Patrick Devan we find in Fayette Co. and to whom you are related.

I am hoping you may be able to clear up a question I have regarding Patrick Devan. I am finding that there were perhaps two Patricks in Fayette Co. Does that sound reasonable to you?

The 1820 Fayette Co. Union Twp. census shows a Patrick Devan 26-45 years old.

The 1830 Fayette census Union Twp. shows two Patricks. One is 40-50 years of age placing his birth between 1780-1790, the other is 30-40 years of age placing his birth between 1790-1800.

The 1840 census shows one Patrick age 40-50 who would appear to be the younger Patrick from the 1830 census.

The 1850 census shows a Patrick born in 1775 in Ireland.

Are we dealing with two Patricks?

Thank you for any help.
