The names are very close. My George Devan had brothers named John and Andrew (but no James) and a sister named Margaret. I believe all the Devans in Fayette County during that period of time (early 1800's) were of the same family. My George's father, Patrick Devan, had a brother, Thomas, born about 1794/95 who could have been the right age to have had the children you mention. Good Luck.
