I never received notice that you answered my enquiry. I'm still working on these Deavours. I have been entering the information on the ones who registered for the draft in WWI.

One in particular, I'm trying to find out how that family connects to the line. Ever Wade Deavours born Sept. 28th 1883 lived in Americus, Sumter Co. GA. He was married to Mary Kibbie ?. He registered for the draft in Americus, Sumter Co. GA on Sep. 9, 1918. I didn't have an Ever Deavours in my index, so went searching for him in Census records.

I did find him on the 1910 census in Sumter Co. GA. He is married to Kibbie age 24 married for 4 yrs and has 2 children Mozelle age 2, and George L. age 1.

Ever w. Deavours is living in his parents home in 1900 in Leesburg, Lee County, GA. His father was George A. Deavours born Aug 1856, married to Lizzie born May 1864 both born in GA as were their parents. Both are on their second marriage. Deavour children in the home were Evor (Ever) b. Sep 1883, Ola born Feb 1886 Cleab (?) born Aug 1888, Janie born May 1896, Lumis b. Dec 1898. Then in 1910 Geo. A. and Elizabeth have had a couple more children, Mercer E. age 9 and Oliver G. age 5. Believe that Lumis was really Loomis, as on the 1910 census his name is spelled Lummis, with middle inital of "E". Janie's middle inital was "M".

I cannot find this George A. Deavours on the census records before 1900. He should have been on the 1860, 1870 & 1880 censuses, but don't find one of the correct age and race even using soundex.

Know the last name is "Deavours" as that is how Ever Wade Deavours signed his name on the registration card.

Any help at all with placing this George A. Deavours with a family would be greatly appreciated.
