Devers Family Genealogy Forum

William Miles Devers, born 1794 in Kentucky, was my gggg-grandfather. He married Lettice Wisehart in 1819 and they moved from KY (where my ggg-grandfather Michael Thomas Dever was born)to Cane Creek, IL, which is near Shawneetown, Gallatin Co, IL. Michael Thomas' first wife was Elizabeth Harrelson, and their sons Michael J. (1841) and Ezekial (1845)were born at Cane Creek. Ezekial seems to drop out of public record after his service for the Union in the Civil War with Company F 56th Illinois Infantry, which Michael J. also joined. Michael J. and his wife Martha Ellen (Hise) farmed in Gallatin County until they died, Michael J. in 1921 and Martha in 1917 (the "DeVaires" are buried in Callicott Cemetery). Their first son was Syrus "Symmes" Devers, born in Shawneetown in 1863, and he married Queen Victoria Carrel (or Carroll) in 1885, in White County, IL. He remarried her for some reason in Gallatin County in 1890. Their son, Syrus Jr. was born in 1893, and died in Pemiscot County, MO in 1924 as a result of lung injuries sustained during WW I. He was my grandfather.
I'm looking for confirmed information about William Miles Dever(s) ancestry. His grandfather was Henry Dever, born in 1745. On different people's ancestry charts, Henry was born in either Indiana or Pennsylvania. The PA Henry served as a Pennsylvania recruit from New Bedford in the Revolutionary War. I'd like to confirm who Henry's father and grandfather were, and where he was born. Thanks for any information you find.
