My ancestors were Devers and my understanding is their country of origin was France. I was told that they came to Canada from France (circa 1600's) then into Virginia where they changed the name to Deviers. In the 1700's they went to Kentucky and in the 1800's into NW Missouri. I have found numerous references that indicate the Devers were in Kentucky in the mid 1700's.
