George Deavours was my ggggggrandfather. My line is through his son John and his wife, Polly Wellbeloved Wood. My uncle and aunt put together our Deavours family tree a few years ago after contacting family with whom we had lost contact. There are many Deavours relatives still in the south especially in Georgia. My part of the family left Georgia following the Civil War and relocated in New Mexico(then known as the Indian Territory) and Texas by way of Arkansas. I will be glad to share information with you. There was a Deavours family newsletter written by family members in Georgia and new Jersey for several years.
What is your connection to the family?
