I would like to compare notes with you on the following information. It was provided by an elderly distant cousin in a letter format. I cannot confirm nor deny the accuracy of this info. If you could help, I would appreciate it. I have more dates, spouses, etc if you need them.
Louis Deville, landed at Port Royal, SC from Switzerland shortly before Michel's birth in 1738. I have no information about his mother or if he had other siblings.
Michel Deville (called Maltaise, b1738 at Port Royal, SC/d 7 Apr 1793) married Margarette Kantzenberger (b 9 May 1751/d 1795, daughter of Jean Kantzenberger and Marie Christine Duroche who were married 21 Jan 1722 in Biloxi, MS soon after landing. Jean K was from Wieslock, Germany; MC Duroche was from Eber, Germany). They were married 23 Apr 1768 in the St Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, LA. They had 9 children (Louis (Filo), Marie, Valentine, August, Nicholas, Margarette, Etiene, Marie L., and Jean T.)
Louis (Filo) married Marie Josephe Johnson 12 May 1798. They had 9 children (Marie Louise, Margarette, Selsie, Louis II, Caroline, Celestine, Michel L., Jean L., and Alexandre D.)
Louis II married Celestine Johnson in 1828. They had 11 children (Marie Louise, Caroline, Celestine, Louise, Louis P., Sophean, Infant 1, Infant 2, Edvise, Judith, and Stephen).
Marie Louise married David Powers (this is where my Deville line stops)
