Anita, My great-great-great grandfather came from Switzerland. Very sorry of your dad's passing. I guess you could say way back then there was a lot of immigration due to the pursuit of a better life. Also marriages could have brought about the changes in the Deville lineage line. There could be hundreds of reasons for a french name being in England. Go under Deportation records for different country,s,names and relocation. Also church records. do you know the very beginning of my Deville linaege has a "Coate of Arms". and the whole story behind it. Keep on searching and good luck!
