Hello Ronald..

To answer your question, Yes, my Great Grandmother was Augustine Gradeni. She was a full-blooded Choctaw Indian. She was the second wife of Alexandre Defran De Ville. His first marriage was to Azelie Chapman on January 29, 1833. This is on file in Opelousas. However, like you, I am also just beginning my research, so I don't have much information. What little I have, I will be happy to share. If I am not mistaken, Gradeni may have come to be also spelled Gradney. I have many elder family members that I am getting my information from, as well as legal documentation. To further assist you, I can tell you that I have it on record that my great aunt Clementine was married to Ambroise Antoine. They were married January 6,1894. This is on record in Ville Platte. Hope this helps.
