I am from this line also as are most of the folks posting here! Yesterday I came upon some tidbits at rootsweb/USGenWeb Archives.

Military: Militia List, Post of Rapide 1788, Rapides Parish, LA. Source: Papeles Procedente de Isla Cuba, Archivo General, Seville, Spain, Legajo (Bundle) 211-A, Folios 798. Submitted by Houston Tracy, Jr. In the militia list 1788 are included: Michel Deville, Jean Louis Deville, Louis Deville, and Valentin Deville. (Michel the dad, the others his sons)

Similarly, Militia List, Post of Rapide, Sept 8 1794 are listed Louis Deville, Jean Louis Deville, Valentin Deville, and Etienne Deville. (all brothers)

Which line do you hail from of the sons of Michel?
