Pat - I have to correct some info in my previous posting. Our John Devins came directly from Ireland so there is little chance that he belongs to the Ontario Devins Clan. He seems to have appeared in Mineville around 1831 probably directly from Ireland.

I am planning a trip to the VT State Library and the Vital Stats Dept in Middlesex tomorrow (1/24/02) so I will attempt to find out some info on your Margaret Devins. Perhaps I can find a census for 1830 in the Isle La Motte area of Grand Isle, VT. Also, I will try to find a birth certificate. Will post any info that I might find.

Mary Ann
