Owen Devlin – my great-great-great-grandfather – possibly born about the 1800s was married around 1834 to Ellen Campbell. They lived in Foremass Upper and had at least five of a family: William (b 1835), Simon (b 1837 d 1917), Mary (b 1840), Peter (b 1843) and Owen (b 1848).
William was married to Margaret Montague and had at least one son John (b 18 Apr 1878).
Simon was my great-great-grandfather. He was married to Mary McCann (b 1861 d 1890) and had John (b 1887 d), Ellen (b 1888 d 1969) and Mark (b 1890 d 1953). Shortly after Mark was born, his mother Mary died.
It's believed that, following my great-great-grandmother Mary's death in 1890 at the age of 29, Mark was sent to Altamuskin where he was raised by his maternal grandmother Jane McCann (nee Kelly). As indicated in both the 1901 and 1911 census, my great-great-grandfather Simon is a widow with three surviving children. I know nothing of John other than he was born in 1887.
Ellen – my great-grandmother – was married to Charles Devine of Ballynahaye. They settled in Aughnagar near Sixmilecross and had a family of eight: Mary Ellen (my grandmother), Cassie, Brigid, Rita, Nora, John, Jean and Winnie.
Mark was married to Lizzie McGirr of Ballykeel. They lived in Aughnagar and had two daughters Velva and Nan.
