My gggrandmother was Betsy G. Devol b. Jan12, 1835 in Waterford, OH, m. James O. McCaddon Aug 18, 1853 in Beverly, OH. She was the d/o Stephen Devol, Jr and Silence Hatch Devol. I do have much more information on this line but my database has no Charles L. or Ellen (Nellie) Devol listed. I would be very interested in your great Aunt Ellen's book especially if she indicates the connection between these two lines. Stephen Jr. was the son of Stephen Devol, Sr and Rosannah Cook. Their families came primarily from RI and were in the ship building business. Very likely they are connected. Looking forward to hearing from you. nlb
