Army Regiments in Devonport 1854

Can anyone help me with the names of Army regiments stationed in Devonport or East Stonehouse, Devonshire around 1854? The same regiment would have been in Roscommon, Ireland in 1864. I am trying to find information on my Alexander George McKenzie who married Elizabeth Ann Alloway in Stoke Dameral, Devonshire in 1854 and had children in Devonport and East Stonehouse until 1864 when they were transferred to County Roscommon, Ireland in 1864. In 1872 the family migrated or where transferred to Victoria, Australia and the ships record states that Alexander was a Sergeant in the British Army. He died in 1900 in Victoria and his occupation states "Imperial Pensioner Army". I have not been able to determine what regiment he belonged to and I need that to continue the search for him. Thanks for any help. Glenys
