Dewars of Carluke
Posted by: Heather Dewar Date: February 10, 2002 at 10:07:22

Does anyone have information on Dewars from Carluke? According to family lore my ggrandfather, Robert Dewar, was a coal miner there and acquaintance of Harry Lauder. He was a "bird of passage" -- mmigrated to the U.S. around 1900, returned to Scotland, then came back to the U.S. and settled in Chicago, where he worked as a dancing teacher. No info on his wife. Children: Norman, Elizabeth (Bessie), and Robert John(Roy).
