John DEWAR - all DEWAR researchers should read
Posted by: Graeme Dewar (ID *****9076) Date: July 27, 2002 at 07:31:24

Ask you to advise if any of your DEWAR descendants have any commonality with the following person:

John DEWAR, b 7 Nov 1783 at Alloa, Clackmannan, Scotland to Alexander DEWAR and Janet Paterson. I believe he later went on to marry Jane ROBISON 28 Nov 1813, Whittingham, Northunberland (Border counties) England. Later they both had a son Alexander DEWAR 14 Jan 1816, Berwickshire, Scotland.

I believe this is the family that later included 7 children sailed with James Woodward Turner on the Warrior to Swan River Colony, Western Australia (left Portsmouth 1829, arrived WA 1830). At some stage they went to London and left for Australia, John as a general servant to Turner, a wealthy businesman.

If any of these dates is collaborated in any DEWARS you have researched please write to me, as this will disprove my theory.
