Heather:

I don't know what happened to Ellen Dewar, but her son Alexander Macdonald is one of my Gt-gt-grandfathers. He died in Warrnambool, Victoria on 17 May 1898.

I'v been meaning to look for Ellen now that the 1841-1901 census receords are all available.

I have Ellen's parents and maternal grandparents.

What is your connection?

Brian
