My paternal grandmother's mother was Ellen Dewar, her father being Frederick George Dewar, the son of Thomas Dewar, of Spring Street, Paddington, London. I understand that Thomas ran a court hairdressers from Spring Street in the 1800s and that Frederick took over the business after him.
I have only just started to research this line in my genealogy (started about 15 minutes ago!) so, apologies, I do not yet have dates but it looks fairly certain that this is the same Dewar family. Let's hope so.
I welcome contact from anyone researching the same family.
