Former Resident Dies in the West
From the Mound City (Kas.) Republican we learn of the death of a man who wa a resident of St. Charles at an early date.
Oscar Dewey lived here as early as 1849 and went to Kansas in 1854. his first wife was Emma Jordan of Kane county, who died in 1874. Ten years later Mr. Dewey was married to Mrs. Lucy Johnson, who survives. Mr. Dewey was 77 years old when he died. He was a carpenter by trade.
