Good news in Sylvania, Lucas County, Ohio!!!!

An eight-volume set of history books tell the history of Sylvania from its earliest days through to current times. Volume One has just been released by the author, Gayleen Gindy, and she will release another volume of the history book about every four months until all eight volumes have been published.

These volumes include thousands of names of people who helped Sylvania grow over the years. If your ancestors lived in Sylvania, Ohio, then more than likely their names are listed in these volumes.

For the first time in the history of the Sylvania community a comprehensive book is published that documents the complete history and development of the Sylvania area, which is scheduled to be printed in an eight volume set, and will be released starting with volume one. These volumes will trace the history of the Sylvania community from its origins as a forest of trees through to its development into a modern township and city. The books are titled: Sylvania, Lucas County, Ohio; From Footpaths to Expressways and Beyond.

To get your copy of this history book go to and search for books written by the author by the last name of “Gindy”.

This is posted on this message board because this family name appears quite often throughout these books.
