Hi Rex, I just noticed your post to this site and, as nobody has responded yet, I thought I would let you know that Jesse Pierpont Dewey died 05 Nov 1910 in Grand Blanc, Genesee, MI.

You mentioned that your father indicated you may be related to THE Admiral Dewey. He may also have mentioned former NY Gov. Thomas Edmund Dewey, and 2-time Presidential candidate, or Melville Dewey, the "father" of the Dewey Decimal System. There are many famous Deweys in the US, most of whom probably descend from Thomas "The Settler" who arrived in 1630.

Was you father born in Alameda County, CA?
