I am trying, to trace a family listed in the 1881 census as John Halton (Head) b 1840 Blackburn his wife Mary Slater bc 1842 Blackburn and three children:

Mary Alice Dewhurst(GRO: Mar 1870 8e 357) Blackburn
John James Dewhurst (GRO: Mar 1872 8e 361)Blackburn
Ethelinda Dewhurst b 25-Nov-1880 Blackburn: d 10-Jun-1959 Manchester: m 27-Aug-1906 to George Huntingdon.

I have the Birth/Death Certificates for Ethelinda (my grandmother)confirming her mother as Mary Slater and father as John Dewhurst. However I cannot trace their marriage or GRO index nyumbers for their birth/marriage/death. Family history suggests two children died quite young but isn't clear if they were Mary Alice/John James or children of Ethelinda.

Has anyone come across this group in their research? Or do you recognise the names from your tree? Any help would be appreciated.
