Sandi,

I don't know if it is of any relevance but my g,g,g, Grandfather on my father's side was Robert Dewhurst bn. 1814 in Whalley, Lancashire. He married Maragret Whittaker and had at least two children (that I know of):

Robert bn. 1852 in Clitheroe,
Alice Ann bn. 1851 in Chatburn

Robert's(bn 1814)father was James Dewhurst and his mother was Mary (but i do not know her surname).

The family continues with links to Lytham.
