Hi Peter;
I have a James Dewhurst(Dewhirst)that resided in Burnley,Lancashire during the period of 1863 to 1869 whose occupation was a farmer who was married to a Grace Whitaker in 1863 They had 3 children George (James)Dewhirst, Mary Dewhirst and Whitaker Dewhirst. If you think that there may be a connection please let me know.
