Hi Neil,

I am Garnet "Garry" Dewhurst's daughter through adoption. He was married to my mother, Willa Marie Olesen (nee Ruble) in late 1950 or early 1951 in Glendale, California. My grandfather, William Ruble, officiated. Dad had been married before to Dorothy, but we never knew her maiden name. They had 3 children that my older brother and I used to visit. Their names were Nancy, Sue and Billy. Nancy would have been in her early teens, Sue maybe 11 or 12 and Billy 9 or 10. This would have been in the early 50's. Dad and Mom lived in Glendale until 1956 when they moved to Ruthven, Ontario, Canada and farmed until Dad died December 3, 1965 in Leamington Hospital, Leamington, Ontario. He was manager of a market when he and mom married and he broke his back in 1952 and was unable to return to his previous job. Dorothy remarried and moved with the children at about the same time as Dad and Mom moved to Canada. I seem to remember Dad saying something about Arizona. possibly the Phoenix area, but those memories are pretty hazy. Garnet adopted my older brother, Gary, my younger brother, John and myself in Los Angeles in 1951 or '52. I just came across this sight and you may have all of the information you need already, but I hope this can be of some help to you. I don't recall any mention of Dorothy having a son named Robert, but Billy was obviously a nickname so maybe Robert was his given name, although my youngest brother (Garnet's natural son) was named Robert Garnet and it seems unlikely that Dad would have named two sons Robert. If you find any of Garnets children by Dorothy, I would love to know. Good luck.
