I just discovered this web site and read the dewhurst/murphy marriage posting with great interest. My father, Richard Joseph Dewhurst Jr. was born in Staten Island in Aug. 1911. His father, also Richard Joseph Dewhurst, was born in Staten Island as well and worked for International Nickel -- my father at IN and then Reynolds Aluminum. Family lore says family came over from England (mid-1800s??) and was involved in tin and metals business, first in NYC and then in Staten Island. My father had a brother Ronald and Uncle Tom, also from Staten Island. As I am interested in tracing family history back to England, I would be most interested in any info re John Dewhurst and his family tree.
Thanks: Richard Joseph Dewhurst III.
