Hi Esther

Good to hear from you. Yes, I am your first cousin. I have a sister, Jenny and a brother Graeme who died in 1991.

My mother was Marie (she died in 1988) who was no 1 in the family, Lorna was no. 2, Keith no. 3 and Norma was last. Lorna has one child, called Jeffrey who I haven't seen for more than 30 years. Norma has three children, Martyn, Deidre (who died in 1988) and Julie.

I have two children, Tracey and Shaun and six grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. I live in Canberra and my sister Jenny lives on the sunshine coast north of Brisbane. Norma lives up that way too and Lorna lives near Coff's Harbour.

In terms of health issues I am not sure I know too much about that except my mum died from a heart attack as did my brother.

I did not know about either Pat or Ron Dews but I do remember meeting Aunty Flo in my early teens. I also remember meeting Uncle Jack and Uncle Roy (both I think were Fred Dews (Keith's father) brothers. Uncle Jack was married to Doreen and had two children (I think they are Jack and Gary).

Fred and Forsythe were divorced some time in the 1950s (although I know they were separated for some 10 years before this occurred)and he married another woman called Ivy. He died about 1971. I think the divorce put a large split in the family and I never met Forsythe until I was in my early 20s but knew Fred throughout my childhood. He was a builder and a very good one from what I understand.

I also met your father Keith once only that I can recall about 1973 or so when he came to visit my mother. I know my mother used to try to keep in contact with him and when she was driving between Queensland and Canberra once or twice she called in to see him in Forbes.

Lorna also must have had contact with him because she let me know in a Xmas card that he had died - I am hoping you already know about this.

Any way I hope that is some information for you to go on with. If you let me have your own email address I will reply directly to you.

Regards Suzanne Clarke
