The Library of Virginia has lots of information available by lookup, although since many of the Dews family were slaves, the lookup is tedious, but worth it.

You might try lookup in these categories:
==>Virginia Historical Inventory
==> Colonial
etc...

I had also found old (1700) newspapers showing different information about the trading, search, purchase of slaves and Dews is a name sometimes mentioned.

Good luck!
