roger my great grandmother was a dewsnap born in glossop she moved to oldham with two brothers.daniel dewsnap was an engineer in the Transvaal and during the boer war with 5 other men saved winston churchills life.He was featured in the film young winston and was also fully researched by Lady Sandes in a recent book and tv programme in which she discovered two relations in Cape town and Pretoria.Churchill gave Daniel a gold watch after his escape it was auctioned in london last year i offered the reserve but it sold for 10k more.i do not know if we are related but if you believe there may be a link contact me regards ian
