Hello Michael, I've just found this site and was interested to read about your family. My Grandma's maiden name was Dewsnap and she was one of about 12 children. She used to recite a ditty which she said as a child naming all her siblings. I only remember some of it;'there was me our Sam Ellen and Esther and little John.....etc' Her name was Elizabeth Alice and she married Thomas Walsh around 1912 and they had 2 sons, my father Bernard Harold born 1915 and his older brother Thomas. They always lived in Old Glossop as far as I know; latterly at Oldham Row until it was demolished. I remember that her father used to travel to the Isle of Man to help maintain the Laxey Wheel. If you think this is the same Dewsnap family as yours I would love to find out more about them! Rita Birch (nee Walsh0
