I talked to my dad and found out some information about the Dewsnap's. His grandmother was married into the Dewsnap family and her name was Emma. Her maiden name was Ingham, but he doesn't think her name was Emily Emma Elizabeth Dewsnap. She married to a Willie Dewsnap and they lived in Ashdon-Underlyne, close to Manchester. They had two children, twin boys on December 23, 1928 by the name of Harold and Leslie Dewsnap.
Harold, is my grandfather and Leslie is my great Uncle. Leslie has two children Ian and Gillian.
My dad, Harold's son, was born in 1950 in Mill Hill, Hendon. They moved when he was 3 to Hemel Hempstead. Then my Uncle Martin was born in 1958.
My dad, Phil Dewsnap went to school in Watford - Watford Tech.
Willie Dewsnap passed away around 1974 of throat cancer. He was a chain smoker. His wife - Emma passed away in 1975 - natural causes (or maybe from her husband smoking)
My Uncle believes that the Dewsnap name goes back to the 1200's and was originally French. If you think this is what you are looking for, it would be great to find out.
