I'm from the Southern California Dickensheets clan. William E. is my father. Ray E. is my grandfather. Samuel Lincoln is my great-grandfather. I would like to continue the discussion regarding the illegitimate connection to the name as you mentioned. Ray and wife Hazel Hattie (Hamilton) had one child, William E. born in May 1921. The family moved from Missouri to L.A. in 1923.

William had three sons: Larry (b.'47), Gary (b.'50) and Dennis (me!)(b.'52).
